    Hi All,

I have a deployment using IAP-205H and Aruba Central and have configured the Guest SSID for the customer with a WPA2 key for security, but also with Guest 2.0 Captive portal with acknowledgement check box for T&Cs. All has been working fine since deployment on an Australian NBN service (100mb/40mb) link for two weeks now.

Yesterday, the customer indicated that the Guest network was getting log in errors and they had issues connecting to the Guest SSID.

The error log shows timeouts to the authentication servers and periodically the AS1 and AS2 servers are being detected up and down as per below excerpt.

Internet connectivity is NOT affected at these times as the other SSID with simply a WPA2 key is working simultaneously and the users on that network are unaffected when they report issues on the Guest SSID.

I do have network based URL restrictions on this SSID, but these are simply no adult sites, hacking, guns etc for user safety, other than that, the network is VC DHCP based, while the other SSID is network based IP address straight off the Internet router.

Is this something to do with NAT issues for VC IP addresses or possibly the URL restrictions or is there something wrong with the Guest 2.0 captive portal servers??

This has been happening since deployment, according to the logs, but it is hit and miss, some days there are no log entries, with other days it happens in spurts, for hours, then stops for no reason, then starts again the next day etc, with no real pattern.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Chris

    Chris,

There was a service failure yesterday. This has been restarted and all is good now. Engineering is investigating why it happened and why it didn't auto restart.
