How to connect IAP to RAP (in Instant mode) to extend wireless coverage

I am trying to extend the wireless coverage of a network consisting of a single RAP-155 (Instant mode).

The RAP is directly (eth 0) connected to the Internet. I want to connect an IAP-135 to the RAP, either directly (eth 1-3) or though a switch (connected to eth 1-3), so the IAP joins the Instant-network and becomes a second AP in the Instant GUI.

By just connecting the IAP to one of the other eth ports of the RAP (as with cabled devices), the IAP is not recognized.

What should the eth 1-3 port config look like for the IAP to join the Instant network the RAP is VC of?

    Any help would be appreciated.

The IAP 135 needs to be able to pick up an IP address on the segment as the 155 but since both have a 5ghz radio you could make the a mesh connection between the two

Here is what I would recommend...

For the ports on the 'LAN' side of the RAP-155 you should be able to do the following:

    a) Create a new (non-default profile for the port(s) you want to connect an AP on
    b) Enable POE (if you have a RAP-155P AND need PoE for these locally connected AP(s)
    c) Fill in the Virtual Controller IP == IP addr you want the masterVC to be located upon
    d) Fill in the Virtual controller gateway and vlan ID

With those settings an IAP 'downstream' will come up within a minute or two

    BTW

    c) Fill in the Virtual Controller IP == IP addr you want the masterVC to be located upon
    d) Fill in the Virtual controller gateway and vlan ID

These are on the global settings/system settings page, rather than per port.
