    Hello new to aruba

We have a client with a large community room that needs up to 300 people on wireless mixed phones and laptops.

the unit we picked was the iap 224 to start

Im getting very mixed reviews on how many clinets it can support this forum said 125 but aruba support engineers say max of 35. I need a solution and this 224 on my desk might be too small

    suggestions?

The High Density Validated Reference Design guide here:  http://community.arubanetworks.com/t5/Validated-Reference-Design/High-Density-Wireless-Networks-for-Auditoriums/ta-p/155578 probably gives you the best answer.  The AP224 is an AP225 AP that uses external antennas.  Either access point will be well equipped to support high numbers of users described in the VRD.  The VRD tells you how many users you can put on that type of access point.
