IAP-93 MAC Authentication issue

I bought two Aruba IAP93.

When MAC authentication was set up, one of them was operating normally, but one of them was not operating normally.

(When MAC authentication is turned off, all two devices operate normally.)

There was only difference in firmware version when checking setting or firmware difference.

operating IAP firmware ver : 6.1.3.4-3.1.0.2

not operating IAP firmware ver : 6.4.2.6.4-1.3.2

Is there anything else I need to set up in ver 6.4.2.6.4-1.3.2?

Re: IAP-93 MAC Authentication issue

When running Mac authentication in the same environment, one can access a wireless network from a PC, but the other can not access a wireless network from a PC.(All setting same)

Re: IAP-93 MAC Authentication issue

Are both device mac addresses in the internal database?  Mac authentication does not block devices from access the network; it gives devices that are in the internal database one role and devices not in the internal database a different role.  It is possible that you made an error and you entered the mac addresses of one of the devices wrong.  Please double-check to make sure both device mac addresses are in the internal database like this (username: mac address, password: mac address).

Re: IAP-93 MAC Authentication issue

Hi Kim,

Due to limitation of memory, IAP92/93 will not support with some functionality which includes LLDP, AirGroup, Internal RADIUS server, EAP termination, WiFi uplink, and SNMP agent from 4.1.0.x

If you are using mac-authentication using internal db of IAP, it will not work as it makes use of internal radius server.

You can make use of external server as the authentication server on IAP running on 4.1.3.x in case you need to use MAC authentication.
