    Would someone do the honors of explaining the different behavior between the following for the IAPs?

     

    Under System, there is an option for "Preferred Band".

     

    Under RF, there is an option for "Band Steering".

     

    I would certainly love to push folks/devices to 5Ghz.  I'm just trying to better understand the differences between these two similar options and perhaps a best practice.  Any negative consequences to the 2.4Ghz radios if I set both above options to 5Ghz?

    Two different things.

     

    Preferred Band is the band that the AP would be on if the AP only had a single radio.  Aruba no longer sells single radio APs, so that switch will not do anything.
