We are having some issues with a certain chipset on our eduroam 802.1x network and was wondering if other people are seeing a problem with it too. The chipset in question is the Intel 7260 running windows 8 and 7, the problem we are seeing is devices containing these wont connect or if they do its very hit and miss and the connection will drop within minutes if not seconds.
Looking at the connections of these problem deivces we dont even see it connecting to the AP nor any requests hitting our radius server.
The only solution we have found is to use a USB wireless dongle which works fine on these devices with that chipset so we know its not a problem with the OS as we have loads of windows 8 users not having these problems.
Any help or other people having the same issues would be most helpful. On intels website hidden away i found this
We are running 126.96.36.199 with about 1650 APs mainly AP105s and AP135s with a single SSID of eduroam.

Generally speaking, when you don't see an auth request on your RADIUS server, a driver update is needed.
Many of the issues we saw with this chipset on Windows 8 were fixed in 8.1.
What version of the Intel driver are you using? See the post below for additional info:

We have tried all the releases of drivers for this chipset. Due to be very newly released by intel we are still stuck. We have seen this probelm with other intel chipsets and rolling back older drivers have solved this issue with window 8 and 8.1 but no joy with this one.

Thanks for the tip. We have tried his and many others that are on the Intel forum page about 3 of us from different teams have spent a good solid week trying all types or tips and work arounds on this problem. The only thing we have found to resolve it was the USB wireless dongle.
We have requested that our suppliers dont supply us devices with this chipset but this doesnt help our students that have them in theirs.
Just trying to get a feel for who else is having this trouble.
