Should I need to trunk the uplink port for Aruba Instant?

Jun 30, 2014 03:20 AM

Environment         This article applies to all the IAPs running a minimum OS version of 6.2.1.0-3.0 and Above.
Answer                  It is recommended to trunk the uplink port for Aruba Instant.

The reason behind that is when SSIDs on the virtual controller are assigned specific VLANs other than “Default”, the virtual controller automatically trunks the Ethernet port on all IAPs and enables tagging. Hence we need to trunk all user VLANs and enable tagging on the switch to which the IAPs are connected.
