    Hi,

Our actual Airwave has 4+ year. We are running version 8.0.8.1 and the backup size (nightly_data001.tar.gz) are very large: 18GB.

The envirolment has 5 controllers and ~600 Access Points.

What we can do to decrease the size of this file? What files/old reports can be deleted via CLI.

    Regards,

     Paulo R.

    Hi Paulo,

Below are couple of things which you could check,

    * Number of days set for historical retention under Amp setup --> General page. We can tweek the days according to our requirement

    * Check whether we are receiving syslogs from the controllers in debug mode. If we are we can change the logging level on the controller to error or warning from debug. Syslogs can be seen under System --> Syslogs & Traps tab on Airwave

    * Check the output for below command from AIrwave CLI, which would show us the tables which are taking up more space

    # dbsize

    Regards,

    Vishnu

    Hello Vishnu,

The dbsize show me a lot of aggregate_session_* tables with more than 1048864 KiB.

    For example:

    1048864 KiB aggregate_session_1461668493
    1048944 KiB aggregate_session_1462192425
    1049088 KiB aggregate_session_1461086502
    1049144 KiB aggregate_session_1460680406
    1049368 KiB aggregate_session_1462302465
    1049416 KiB aggregate_session_1460411849
    1049424 KiB aggregate_session_1460486983
    1049496 KiB aggregate_session_1460033022
    1049760 KiB aggregate_session_1460372855
    1049944 KiB aggregate_session_1460637222
    1050072 KiB aggregate_session_1460934319
    1050584 KiB aggregate_session_1461592425
    1050728 KiB aggregate_session_1459953810
    1051248 KiB aggregate_session_1459878343
    1051552 KiB aggregate_session_1461853183
    1051672 KiB aggregate_session_1461777111
    1051704 KiB aggregate_session_1461010527
    1051744 KiB aggregate_session_1461702097
    1051984 KiB aggregate_session_1460561494
    1051992 KiB aggregate_session_1462233929
    1052128 KiB aggregate_session_1462377577

Have some command to clean old DB history?

    Regards,

    Paulo R.

It mainly deals with the AppRF data. What is the GB size we have given for "AppRF Storage Allocated" under Amp Setup general page? For how many days we wish to store AppRF data on the server? Also, could you share the last tables which are showing up in the debsize output? Ones towards the end would be the top tables.

    ok..

    We allocated 250GB.

The /var/airwave/rrd folder has more than 60GB.

    I will reduce this value.

    Thank you
