What is "the Extensions service"

    Hi all,
    I have update my clearpass from 6.5.6 to 6.6.0.
    are appeared 3 new services:

    - Extension service
    - Ingress logger service
    - Ingress logrepo

     

    I have understand that:
    - Ingress logger service
    - Ingress logrepo service

    are releated to logging and ecc

     

    but i don't find anything about "Extension service".

    Can you help me?
    the "Extension service" have to be started?

    ClearPass Extensions is a new 3rd party integration framework.

    We dont use the guest service. Clearpass is only used as NAC solution for wired and wireless users.

     

    We had just upograded to 6.6.8 from 6.6.5. Since we have done this we are getting this error while backing up. I ahave now spoke to TAC. They emailed me this link - http://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ClearPass/CP_ReleaseNotes_6.6.8/Content/WhatsNew/KnownThisRls.htm

     

    Then I googled to find what this service is and landed in this page.

     

    Now, How can we permamnetly disable this as we dont need it by the looks of it ?

     

    And I hear extention was introduced in 6.6.0. But I had 6.6.5 running for a while and never has this error come up before. How does that happen ?
