    how to access clear pass web interface from VM ware?

     

    I have installed CPPM-VM-x86_64-6.4.0.66263-ESX-80G-CP-SW-EVAL-ovf  on VM Ware. I have noticed that the further configuration has to be done using web interface. Can anyone explain how to access web interface from VM? Or is it done from local machine? I tried with the loca machine with assined static IP. But unable to go to the GUI.

    Please help

    once you set the ip and basic settings in the CLI setup then you can go to https://(your IP)/tips

    Hi Troy,

     

    I have set up the basic setting in CLI, my doubt is where we have to enter the "https://(your IP)/tips ? is it under the VMware or Local host? Right VM running only clearpass image. I have confusion that Do I need to run an OS in VM ware or not? I have tried to enter the IP in local machine but it unable to access the webpage. Please assist

    Hi Troy,

     

    I have completed the stept which you have provided on the pdf file. I am already configured the Clear Pass on the CLI. As I mentioned earlier from where to access the GUI? Is it from Host PC or VMware itself? From Hots PC I have tried to access the GUI (192.168.1.10 which set as Clearpass IP) but unable to access.

    You can either go to https://[ip address] and choose ClearPass Guest

    or you can go directly to https://[ip address]/guest to access ClearPAss Guest directly.

    You can also go to https://[ip address]/tips and select ClearPass Guest from the Dashboard quick links.

    You can access the GUI from your local machine but of course you have to have network connectivity from the local PC to the CPPM server.  Make sure you can ping the IP address you set up in the CLI of the VM first.  If you can make sure your PC has the proxy turned off if it is a lab setup and not part of your production network.  Then goto https://[ip address]/tips

     

    If you can not get to it maybe the services in CPPM are not all started.  Call support for assistance.  Also from CLI of the VM if you log into it you can run a few network connectivity test.  Type help in the CLI most of the commands are under "Network".  I think you can do "Network help or ?"  For the sub commands.
