shutdown clear pass

Hi! :smileyvery-happy:

While I read the user guide, I have read that to shut-down the policy manager, I have to do an access with these credentials

Username: poweroff

Password: poweroff

So i wish to know if exist another method and if i can disable the method that i explain to you.

because so if someone can reach my policy manager via ssh can shut-down it.

thanks.

According to the user guide that username and password is only available through the serial console.

Re: shutdown clear pass

cjoseph is right; that logon should not work through SSH.

Other methods:

CLI:

system shutdown

WebUI:

- Administration --> Server Manager -->  Server Configuration --> Shutdown button

cp-shutdown.jpg

Re: shutdown clear pass

Hi,

If you want to shutdown all applications and reboot the server then login as appadmin user and run below command

## system restart

For initial setup perform the following steps to set up the Policy Manager appliance:
1. Connect and power on
Connect the serial port on the appliance to a terminal using the null modem cable provided, and power on the appliance. The appliance is now available for configuration.
Use the following parameters for the serial port connection:
l Bit Rate: 9600
l Data Bits: 8
l Parity: None
l Stop Bits: 1
l Flow Control: None
2. Log in
Use the following preconfigured credentials to log in to the appliance. (You can create a unique
appliance/cluster administration password later.)
login: appadmin
password: eTIPS123
This initiates the Policy Manager Configuration Wizard
