GRE tunnel wizard showing ip address not configured what may be the reason and why?
Regards,
Mallikarjun
That is because only a layer 3 GRE tunnel requires an ip address. A layer 2 tunnel does not.
Then what is that ip address assigned to ,already we are entered source and destination ip address right? Will you please explain it .
If it is a layer 2 tunnel, there is no ip address; it is just basically bridging traffic. If there is a layer 3 tunnel, typically there is an ip address because there is a route added to point to the subnet represented by the tunnel.
