Why does the MAS looses IP address while managing it through ZTP (Zero touch provisioning)

Q:

Why does MAS lose its IP address while managing it through ZTP (Zero touch provisioning)?

A:

Why does MAS lose its IP address while managing it through ZTP (Zero touch provisioning)?

While doing ZTP, once the device gets an Ip address it will contact the activate and get the provisioning rule. If we login (enable mode) to the switch before it contacts the activate, the ZTP will be disabled and it loses the IP address.

In the screen shot given below, we can see that the switch loses the IP address as we have tried logging in before it gets synced with activate.

The switch has the IP address hence it could ping activate server.

Would you like to use Quick-Setup to help with the basic configuration of the system (y|n)?n
Quick-setup dialog can be launched by executing "quick-setup" command in enable mode

(ArubaS1500-48P) #show ip interface brief

In the screenshot shown below, we can see that the switch tried to contact activate server. Post that, if we login to the switch it will be retaining the Ip address.
