    Hello everyone,

I have a 7030-US controller, (by mistake) I purchased a 16 APs license with and 24access points-I should have bough more license-

I connected 16 APs initially to the controller and they work fine, later I adder the other 8 APs to the controller and the also worked fine!!

I was surprised to see that the controller is handling more APs that the license limits!! After that I added two more APs but the would show up as not licensed when I run the show ap database command.

Can someone explain to me how is that kind of licensing situation is being processed please?

    Thanks,

    What version of code?

Is this an independent master controller?

    Running 6.4

I have a master-local setup. Master is the licensing server on centralized licensing.

    thanks,

So it is likely pulling the licenses from your other controller.

Not sure why, I have no license on the other one. The show license output has nothing on the local controller.

Can you post the output of:

    show license aggregate

Where all APs connected to one controller? if not that may be due to an error caused by centralized license configuration , because in Centralized license server configuration , the client can save his license configuration for a month after a disconnection , so maybe caused by that.

But any why normally you should bay more licenses.

When more than 16 APs are connected, are they completely up with radios serving clients? (no L flag next to them or amber lights...)

Yeah fully operational with no flags and clients connected to them.
