    I have setup a simple 2-node cluster.

    Virtual Router 220:
        Description
Admin State UP, VR State MASTER
IP Address 192.168.1.248, MAC Address 00:00:5e:00:01:dc, vlan 1
Priority 255, Advertisement 1 sec, Preemption Enable Delay 0
        Auth type NONE ********
        tracking is not enabled

    Virtual Router 221:
        Description
Admin State UP, VR State BACKUP
IP Address 192.168.1.247, MAC Address 00:00:5e:00:01:dd, vlan 1
Priority 235, Advertisement 1 sec, Preemption Enable Delay 0
        Auth type NONE ********
        tracking is not enabled

AP/Client load balancing appears to be working fine. However, I would like to setup a cluster VIP for one single IP for new AP discovery. I have read that you can set this up using VRT under Redundancy. However, when I try to use an IP that is not on any interface I get an error saying I cannot use that IP.

Am I going about this the wrong way?

    Thanks in advance!

Need to configure directly under each MD

Setup VRRP configuration for AP provisioning on each md separate from cluster settings

Ok, I find this confusing. In the lab directions for the SWDI course, it specifically says to do this in the cluster settings. Did this change between 8.1 and 8.2?

Yup. Also, since I've been going through the Aruba 8 press book I see it is riddled with UI differences compared to today.

However, to add a VIP for AP discovery, it must be configured directly on each MD (at least in 8.2+)

So as a regular VRT under redudancy and no configuration at all under the cluster profile correct?

    Thanks!

If you're cluster is already stood up.

Navigate to the specific device and configure a VRT on each one to use the same IP (and settings)
