Wireless Access

We want to install an AP-175 for outdoor use for client connectivity only, no mesh network configured on this AP-175. So to get the full functionality of a/b/g/n, I would need to install 4 antennas, 2 for Radio 0 and 2 for Radio 1. Is that the common deployment scenario?

Hi Bob - you will need only two antennas. One for 2.4Ghz (b/n) radio and another antenna for 5Ghz radio (a/n).

Thanks for the quick response.  If I could ask a couple follow up questions:

1) In a mesh configuration for the mesh point AP-175, I have the A radio, radio 0, for the mesh link, do I only need to connect 1 onmi-directional antenna for the b/g radio, radio 1, for clients connections ? I currenly connected both? 

2) For the mesh link we use ant-2x2-d805 antennas. Those antennas have 2 connectors, so I connected them both to the R0 connectors on the AP-175. Is that the correct way? Or could I have just connected one of the connectors? 

I didn't see much documentation on connecting the antennas to the AP-175, and what options are available.

Bob -

1. Aruba sells pair of Omni directional antennas. So you need to connect both antennas to R1. Which 2.4GHz antenna are you using?

2. Yes the D805 has two connectors. Please connect one connector to RO-1 and another to RO-2. You will need to connect both cables from D805 to the AP.

1) We purchased ANT-2X2-2005 for the 2.4 ghz and ANT-2X2-5005 for the 5 ghz.

For AP with only client connectivity - Pelase connect the pair of  ANT2x2- 2005 to R1 and pair of ANT2X2-5005 to R0.

Hi,

   I to install the AP 175 with 4 antennas 2005-v and h and 5005-v and h..... and AP 175 is showing up ...we have all APs are in default group and AP 105 is working fine and broadcasting SSID on 2.5 and 5 but AP 175 is not and wihle checking no bg channels is there.... can you guide me how ill configure AP 175 that it will work as other AP...

If you are using the AP-175 for just client coverage using the D-807 antenna, should you use two D-807s per AP deploymentD
