    Hello.

I know one of the main differences between the access points AP-92 and AP-93 versus AP-104 and AP-105 is that the first ones are single radio and the second ones are dual band.

Another difference is that AP-92 and AP-93 have been designed for low density deployment and the AP-104 and AP-105 for high density deployment.

I would like to know what is the meaning of low density and high density, related with the number of clients on each access point, broadband, load ...

    Thanks.

Another band=more density.  If you think about 30 students in a classroom, that is much  handled by a dual-band radio instead of a single-band radio.

A low density situation could mean a warehouse where there are up to 10 clients on an access point, tops...

    Thansk.

If all students (say 30 students) use laptops with wireless cards that do not support 5 Ghz (only 2,4 Ghz). Is there any difference between having an AP-93 or an AP-105. How many access point would it be necessary for any classroom?

    Regards.

User capacity planning is all dependent on what applications your devices are running.  Well-behaved applications like web and email do much better in a congested environment than voice and video.  If you have 30 students in a class and your devices will ONLY be 2.4ghz you should deploy an AP93, becaue the extra band on the AP105 will not buy you anything.  Just do not expect to do any level of voice or video while all 30 students are in that class.

The statement that the AP104/105 is for high density is directly related to the fact that it has an extra radio and can accomodate more clients.  Even so, the number of users is still limited based on what applications we want to run reliably on that access point.

    Thanks again.

I conclude that AP-93 and AP-105 support up to 10 users per band if you want to have critical applications, like VoIP, or up to 30 users if you do not have such kind of applications (for example if you have web or email).

What about to AP-124 and AP-125? They have 3x3 MIMO instead of 2x2. Is that the big difference between AP-105 and AP-125? How many users would you have in any AP-125 per band for critical and non critical applications?

When having MIMO 2x2 (AP-105) or 3x3 (AP-125), has the laptop wireless card any kind of influence in the performance?

    Regards.

The AP125 has three antennas, and better receive sensitivity, which means it can "hear" better than the AP93 or AP-105 with only two antennas.  The third antenna also provides greater antenna diversity.  If your clients are only b/g, they cannot take advantage of mimo speeds and a other efficiencies that mimo offers, so how many clients on an AP also depends on what the clients also support.  A good reference on what to look out for an a high density environment is provided in Aruba's High Density Validated Reference Design here:  http://www.arubanetworks.com/pdf/technology/DG_HighDensity_VRD.pdf

Every environment is individual, but the VRD speaks to alot of the principles involved.

    Many thanks.

I will read such a document.

Also in regards to AP-105 and AP-125 besides the 2X2 and 3X3 the antennas are different. The AP-105 come with directional antennas and the AP-125 come with bi-directional antennas so placement will be an issue. I have found to get no coverage from the back side of the AP-105. When deciding between the AP-105 and AP-125 I would always suggest spending the extra money and use the AP-125 for the 3X3 and bi-directional reasons
