We are installing Aruba AP275's for a customer.   They do not have DHCP configured so we are statically assigning IP address, gateway IP, Name, Group, subnet mask, etc...

We are using Cisco switches with an Aruba controller.  After installing roughly 50-275's we are occasionally finding a few random AP's with no config on them whatsoever.  So these AP's are obviously not being recognized by the controller.  What could cause a configured AP to loose its config?    THis also appeared to have happened on 1 AP225 as well.  Any thoughts would be apprieciated =.

How are you doing controller discovery?

    LLDP

When logged into the associated switch a:  show lldp neighbors shows just a mac address for this AP.

If it helps, the Controller is an Aruba 7240 and is running 6.4.2.0...

The discovery options would be ADP (broadcast if APs are in the same subnet as controller), DNS entry for Aruba-master pointed to the controller, or DHCP option 43. You might also try upgrading to 6.4.2.4 as well as there were a few fixed specifically for the 270 series
