With a paperclip holding down the clear button for three seconds should be resetting the console password. This is only possible when the frontpanel buttons are not protected.

By default there is NO username and password, you should just get access to the console with full manager rights.

If you used the 'setup' command for initial configuration, it asks for a password and will set that to the username: manager. So if you have a clue what password could be set, you might try that with username "manager".

If you don't know the password, follow the reset procedure (that removes the configuration): http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=mmr_kc-0127335

.. and you may need to wait 25 seconds instead of 5 for the 5412zl according to http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=5179499&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c02597269

I had the same issue with my new 5412zl switch. I tried resetting it to the factory default but it did not help either. Is there any other way to solve this problem?
