I cant seem to get vrrp working properly using back to back VRRP.  Any thoughts.  We initially thought it was a multicast related issue.  In the attached pictures we have a working vrrp configuration with a switch in between the 7210 pair and the 7010 pair (view is drawn from top to bottom).  In the non-working scenario we have a mesh with the 4 devices directly connected to each other.  When directly connected, no failover occurs and the master (once the ports are removed) never relinquishes the master role.  Pings drop when the ports are removed and pings come back up when the ports are plugged back in.

Is there another way to accomplish this?  Does aruba support some multi chassis trunking (Brocade)/distributed trunking (HPE)?
