Channel width settings

We have the default-a radio profile set to 20MHz channels but I see 80MHz connections. Does the ssid profile override the radio profile?

Before you turn 80 MHz on you need make sure you do a proper channel planning with DFS channels enabled otherwise you will only have Two 80 MHz channels to work with .

To start you could enable 40 MHz channels under the SSIDs profile > HT settings

Re: Channel width settings

I posted my settings -- not sure if you could view them. Both HT and VHT are enabled, channel width is 20MHz. I don't want 80MHz channels enabled because of density. Airwave seems to show 80MHz connections and the output of 'show ap detail ap-name' isn't clear:

AP "ana_W104B_3ece" Radio 0 Operating Information
-------------------------------------------------
Item Value Source
---- ----- ------
Very High throughput Enabled Configuration
High throughput Enabled Configuration
Mode AP Configuration
Band 802.11a
Primary Channel 36 ARM
80MHz Channel Group 36-48 ARM
EIRP 18 ARM

Re: Channel width settings

If you do a show ap arm rf-summary ap-name you can see channel assignment or show so active if it's using 42E means is using 80 if it's using 40 then you will see 46-/+

You can disable 80 in the radio profile

Re: Channel width settings

Also you should leave VHT enable that's how it accepts 802.11n associations

Re: Channel width settings

I would like to disable 80MHz channels. I thought having the radio profile set to 20MHz channel width would do that, but it appears like I'm seeing 80MHz connections both in Airwave and on the controller. 80MHz is enabled on the ssids but I would think the radio profile would not allow that.
