Has anyone used HP 10GB GBIC's in a 7210?

    We are waiting for Aruba GBIC's to arrive, but need to keep the project going to meet some timelines.  The vendor overlooked them in the recommendations, and we have just now ordered them as the implementation is underway.  We have HP J9151A's on hand and would like to try them temporarily, fully understanding they aren't on the supported list.  Before we connect them, we are just wondering if anyone else has experience trying GBIC"s outside the approved list.

    I haven't used HP specifically, but I have used SFPs that aren't approved. If they come up, have link and show 10G with no errors, you will likely be OK. Just be aware that TAC cannot support those modules.

    We decided to give it a try, and the J9151A modules linked up and appear to be working as needed for now.
