How To Configure an AP 175

    I am able to power up an AP 175 connecting it to a PoE plus grade switch. However the mac address is not showing in the mac table & concequently the AP is not recieving an IP address.

     

    Does anyone know how to access a CLI or GUI to configure this thing to run on a 3600 series controller? The console port is not a RJ45 standard but a USB & I dont have a real serial DB-9 port on my laptop. Does this mean I would need a DB-9 serial to USB connector in order to configure this?

    It looks like a basic USB-A to USB-A connector like this:  https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Beige-USB-2-0-Cable/dp/B0002MKBI2

    You would need to download a driver from the Tools section of the support site to have it recognized by your PC, however: https://support.arubanetworks.com/ToolsResources/tabid/76/DMXModule/514/EntryId/4229/Default.aspx

    Do you know whether the 175 is an IAP-175 or AP-175? If it's IAP, it should have a webUI that can be used as well, although it may need to be factory defaulted if there's a prior config on it.

    The USB port is the console port. You should be able to connect USB directly from your laptop to the 175, but may need the USB console driver for bringing up the serial connection. The USB driver can be downloaded from the support site:
