When upgrading the IGC Policy Version for a Group from say 4.1.1 to 4.1.3, any overrides on the cluster were lost.  Is this normal?  If it is, beware!

that did not happen to us.
We upgraded the cluster of IAPs to 4.1.3 and it automatically adjusted the IGC policy version to 4.1.3.

    Pasquale,

Yes, changing the Policy Version from 4.1.1 to 4.1.3 brought forward the configuration for the Group successfully - no problems.  However any Overrides at a cluster level were removed!

For example, we have a Group called Canada-West.  In this group we have multiple clusters registering from different cities (Cluster-VAN, Cluster-EDM, ClusterCAL,...) all of which have the same Networks configured from the Group level so that we have consitent networks at all sites.  However, site Cluster-EDM needs a unique network only at their site, and so we set it up at the cluster level - this now becomes an Override at this cluster.

This is the problem - Overrides at the cluster level were removed when migrating to a newer Policy version - frustrating!  So now we need to recreate all the overrides specific to each cluster and hope that our documenation is up to date for this to happen seamlessly :).

    Hi!

Yes, this has happened to us aswell when upgrading policy version. We've also encountered lost overrides when disabling IGC and enabling it again. Aruba really needs to take a look at how the overrides can be retained for a group during these kind of events!

Meanwhile I´d keep documentation on which overrides you make on which clusters for easier repair if this happens again.

    Cheers,
