Large scale iPhone as a VoWiFi deployment. What is you experience?

Any real world large scale iPhone deployment experience? We are working on deploying iPhones as a Voice over WiFi clients and trying to get some feedback from somebody already doing it.

I think the most important thing to consider is what app you will be using ?

Thank you

Also the generation of phone. I've seen customers go with an older one to save money and then have a ton of problems because they were 2.4 only.

We are using AP225s with AOS 6.3.1.5 in a Hospital enviroment. The initial deployment is done and we have around 150 iPhone5s in use. The main complain is dropped calls (more like periods of silence) when we beleive the iPhone is roaming. It happens in areas with good coverage.

Since you are only supporting a single device, and it supports 11r and 11k, you may want to create a test SSID with both of those features enabled. It could dramatically improve roaming. (I think you need to be on iOS 7 or higher).

11r and 11k can wreak havoc on devices that don't support it so definitely test with a new SSID (if feasible)

Re: Large scale iPhone as a VoWiFi deployment. What is you experience?

Currently we have the iPhones on the regular data SSID and yes you are right about the havoc 11r and 11k can wreak - we don't have them enabled. It will be good to have a separate 5GHz only SSID for the iPhones that we can tweak independently.

We have been trying to find somebody in a simular situation to exchange experience, but so far no luck.
