License Transfer between Aruba Controllers

    Hi,

     

    Wanted to clear qeuries regarding Aruba licensing.

     

    One of our customer has 3400 controller with 32 AP licenses. Now he wants to extend to 50 more APs in addition to existing APs. We must change the controller and he needs 7210. The customer has the certificate keys but doesn't know from which account the licenses were activated online.

     

    Now he wants to retain/transfer the existing licenses to the new 7210. Please advise if we can do that?

    You cannot transfer licenses between controllers unless the controller is
    RMA'ed. You should contact your account team.

    It can be done, but it typically requires your local aruba rep to get involved when you transfer licenses from one controller to another. The partner should be able to communicate with the local rep that a new controller is being purchase and that the customer wants to transfer licenses.
