License and changing IP address of the controller

    Hi,

     

    If I change the Controller IP address (Aruba 7240), will that be a problem for the license ?

     

    I think licenses are associated with the Serial Number and not the IP Address, but I would prefer to be sure. :-)

     

    Any advices ?

    Hey, this will not cause an issue for your licenses as you mentioned, they are tied to your serial number. Don't forget to update any NAS IP/NAD on your network as these may need changing.

    One remark.

     

    If you are using ArubaOS8 with a VMM, the license is depending on the mac address too! If you move the machine to a different host with a different mac address the license passphrase changes and the license is not valid anymore. You will need to transfer the license in the license portal (mnp.arubanetworks.com) to a new system.
