    Hi,

Is it possible to deploy an Aruba Controller without a PEF license? Im planning to connect it to firewall appliance and control user access from there.

    Thanks!

    Of course!

You would have more or less the same features as you'd have with a Cisco WLAN controller.

You certainly can, but it would be more costly, involve more infrastructure and would not be as flexible. In addition, you would not be able to prioritize the applications that you would want to work more reliably in your environment.  You would lose a great deal of functionality http://www.arubanetworks.com/pdf/products/DS_PEF.pdf
