I need to provide an active AP that can be temporary mounted on a wall of an apartment and activate a wireless network signal. The customer uses Aruba 215 APs. How to get the AP to produce a signal or how to take a signal reading? Can a Aruba AP just be powerd up and produce a readable signal and how do you read the signal? Or does it need a Aruba controller to produce signal?

    Thank you.

You need a controller to configure the Site Survey AP.  When it is successfully configured, you don't need the controller anymore.
