    Hi all,

I just finished building a redundant RAP dedicated controller, and setup the AP system profile with:

    LMS: Public IP of Primary

Backup LMS: Public IP of Secondary

We use Aruba's Activate server to tell the RAPs to go to Public IP of Primary and which AP group they belong to. From there, they should get the LMS/Backup LMS config.

When I do a "show ap database" I see the RAPs have the Switch IP as the Controller's internal Ip address, but Standby IP shows as 0.0.0.0.

Is this normal? Should the AP system profile be configured differently?

    Thanks.

My guess is that "Standby" is only for access points configured with HA.  Remote APs do not participate in HA.

Is there any way to confirm what the RAP sees as the LMS/Backup LMS? I know there are some remote AP debug commands that show similar data, just don't know the right command for this.

The RAP would get that directly from the ap-group.

To see what an AP has configured:

show ap config ap-name <name of ap> | begin LMS

Ok, yeah I had that command. Testing failover is what my challenge is at the moment. I feel like the RAPs have the correct settings, but to verify it is tough. I guess some firewall magic could make it work.

    Thanks for the help.
