Replacement of Campus APs

Hi,

Is there an approved/recommended process for replacing a failed AP on the controller and AirWave?  THe only thing I could find was to provision a new AP, as the old one and clear gap-db with the mac of the old one.

However, it seems like there has to be a better way of accomplishing this, while maintaining the visualrf position/information.

Thanks!

Re: Replacement of Campus APs

The controller part is correct.

In AirWave, go to the list of APs, choose Modify Devices, select the AP and choose Replace Hardware from the dropdown box, then click the Replace Hardware button.

Tim,

Thanks a lot for a quick reply.  Do you know if there are any plans to simplify this process, or making a CLI command that will be something like "replace ap <old> <new>"?

I haven't heard anything about that but it would definitely make a great feature request. I would submit one here:
