Hello everyone, today i did my second memory upgrade to 1gig  of a 3200 so i decided to do a manual of this second one!

Let Start!!

The first thing you need to do is yes of course backing up your controller!

The secondt thing you need to do is rebooting the controller and when its booting up you need to press any key example enter enter enter :)

Until you get in the cpboot like this:

CPBoot 1.2.0.0 (build 20527)
Built: 2009-01-20 at 18:55:40
DRAM: Operating at 533 MHz
DRAM: Channel 0: 512 MB
DRAM: Channel 2: 0 MB
DRAM: Total = 512 MB
POST: Memory test: Physical 0 - 0x10000000 - quick test
       Memory test: Physical 0x10000000 - 0x20000000 - quick test
       PASS
CPU: XLR508 rev. C4 Clock: 800MHz
Board: A3200
CPLD: rev: 1.2
SMP: All 8 cpus successfully started
Boot: Primary bootflash partition
POST2: OK
Net: xlr_gmac0 xlr_gmac1 xlr_gmac2 xlr_gmac3
IDE: Bus 0: OK
       Device 0: Model: CF 512MB Firm: 20080112 Ser#: 2010B 0000141896
                 Type: Removable Hard Disk
                 Capacity: 502.0 MB = 0.4 GB (1028160 x 512)

Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
cpboot>
cpboot>
cpboot>
cpboot>
cpboot>

As you see DRAM  says its 512mb

When you are in the cpboot you need to issue the next command: eye_finder

Like this:

cpboot> eye_finder
Erasing #
Erased 1 sectors
Writing ################
cpboot>

After this you need to turn off or disconnect the controller

Take the

Now open the wireless controller to change the Memory, which is located where the red box is

controller_inside.jpg

You take that memory off and put the memory you bough in that slot.

Now you close the Wireless controller  and turn it on again and let the normal booting goes...

You will see this

POST2: OK

IDE: Bus 0: OK
       Device 0: Model: CF 512MB Firm: 20080112 Ser#: 2010B 0000141896
                 Type: Removable Hard Disk
                 Capacity: 502.0 MB = 0.4 GB (1028160 x 512)

Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
Loading image 0:0########################################

You will see that the eye finder will work there for like1 or 2 minutes so be patient!

You also will notice that the DRAM now its 1024MB instead of 512MB, so if you see this then you did a good job, you are done! :)

Re: [Tutorial] How to upgrade 3200 memory

How can we check on a existing 3200 controller, whether the memory has been upgraded on it or not?

The controller is in production. not possible to reboot the controller.
