Wireless Network Collapse into LAN

Our Wireless network is separate from our LAN network. Our wireless network has it's own switches like the LAN. What we have to do is collapse the Wireless Network into the LAN, but we'd like to do it in stages. If we migrate the AP's to the LAN and create another leg(connection) to the LAN from the controller is this the best method in starting the collapse of the Wireless Network?

The access points only need to be able to discover and reach the controller.  They do not need a dedicated connection.
