    hello,

I just deployed a brand new IAP-505 cluster (controlerless) in version 8.6.0.4 but it is unstable... I explain myself:

     - every AP that is connected on a different switch than the one where is the virtual controler has a log message: AP checksum error

     - when I modify the configuration, the Wifi is completely unstable for about 5 min.

here is a quick output of # show log system from the VC

    Aug 13 15:56:56 cli[4664]: <341132> <WARN> |AP AP-CH1-04@10.6.12.148 cli| Check sum mismatch for AP-10.6.12.166, slave 28729 vs master 1259, error_cnt 1, recover_sent 6.
    Aug 13 15:56:56 cli[4664]: <341132> <WARN> |AP AP-CH1-04@10.6.12.148 cli| Check sum mismatch for AP-10.6.12.160, slave 28729 vs master 1259, error_cnt 7, recover_sent 6.
    Aug 13 15:56:57 cli[4664]: <341132> <WARN> |AP AP-CH1-04@10.6.12.148 cli| Check sum mismatch for AP-10.6.12.152, slave 28729 vs master 1259, error_cnt 6, recover_sent 6.

the cluster is managed by airwave.

the switches are also Aruba and the network topology is simple ( a simple star). Spanning tree is enable (MST)

I'm used to deploy IAP-305 and I never had that kind of issue.

    Do you have any idea?

    Thank you for your help

    Clement

From what you explain: APs on the same switch as the VC are fine, those on a different switch get out of sync, suggest to me there is something between the switches.

Do you see anything in the switch logs, like spanning-tree block?

Have not seen this recently, so if there is no further response please reach out to Aruba Support and have them look at it.

    Hi Clement,
Did you find a resolution to this?  I'm seeing similar issues with IAP-515 instant clusters on AOS 8.6.0.4
    Many thanks
    Ronnie
