    Hi All

    Based on my understanding,  roaming is a client side decision and it calculate based RSSI. So if the signal to a AP is not lower than the threshold on the Wireless NIC, then it will not roam even there is another AP got higher RSSI value.

    But may I know is there any new technology or feature in Aruba can help the client to choose a roam to a better access point? say 802.11r, 802.11k and 802.11v?

    Have you taken a look at Client Match? It enhances traditional radio and roaming techniques (i.e. band steering and 802.11k/v/r).

    Clients in WLAN indeed make their own roaming decision. This decision is not really standardized and some clients may (or will) different than others depending on the algorithm that is implemented. 802.11k allows exchange of channel information between clients and the APs, which helps the client to get a better overview and roaming AP candidates without the need of scanning, but still the client will make the decision based on settings and algorithms in the wireless card driver. 802.11r allows fast roaming with WPA2 authenticated sessions, so it will not steer or control the client, but if the client and AP support the actual roaming event should go with a shorter interruption which is useful in voice calls and other traffic that should have as little interruptions as possible. 802.11v allows the AP to suggest the client to switch to a 'better' AP, so that is close to what you actually want if the client supports the standard. As mentioned AirMatch in Aruba can do a lot and prefers 11v to move clients, but has other mechanisms to steer clients to other APs or radios (band steering) as well.
