I get this error "Unable to fetch Aruba Central location from activate via VRF".

How do you fix this? I am getting the run around from support.

The switch has no password set, no config set, I have erased the startup config. It can ping pubic and private addresses.

    Hi Mike,

For what i remember from the training a while ago.

    1. factory reset the switch
    2. set admin password
    3. copy the show running configuration exactly (must be exact the same as the config)
    4. make a new group in central
    5. create an switch template and set the running configuration of the factory default switch there
    6. sync the switch will happen
    7. make changes from de central template only

    Maybe this help you

Template Group management on 10.06+ does not required the password to match. See the 'Password Requirements for Template-Based Configuration' on Aruba Central Help: https://help.central.arubanetworks.com/latest/documentation/online_help/content/switches/cx/prov-tmplt-cx.htm

Also, UI Group management for CS is supported on Central and it has a great feature called MultiEdit. This video has a great demo of UI with MultiEdit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aztTJvzNCbw

Here is the Aruba Central help doco for MultiEdit: https://help.central.arubanetworks.com/latest/documentation/online_help/content/aos-cx/cfg/conf-cx-using-multiedit.htm?Highlight=multiedit

    Greetings!

Is the switch already present in the Central account inventory with an active license assigned to it? If there is no license assigned to a device, Activate will not provide a Central URL in its provisioning response even if the switch is part of the account inventory.
