    Can anyone advise how to get a report, or via SNMP query, of the secondary firmware version for 2920 and 2930M switches? I have searched MIBs, but I am unable to find the correct OID.

    TIA
    David

    Hello,

    I am assuming that you want to be able to see the firmware version in secondary flash?

    Please try the OID hpSwitchFlashImageVersion,  1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.59.1.3.1.4 from the HP-SWITCH-IMAGE-MIB

    Here is a comparison what is shown with the command show flash and what is shown doing a walkmib of this OID.

    Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP# show flash
    Image Size (bytes) Date Version
    ----------------- ------------ -------- --------------
    Primary Image : 30160632 08/04/21 WC.16.10.0016
    Secondary Image : 20584405 06/19/18 WC.16.02.0025

    Boot ROM Version
    ----------------
    Primary Boot ROM Version : WC.16.01.0009
    Secondary Boot ROM Version : WC.16.01.0009

    Default Boot Image : Primary
    Default Boot ROM : Primary

    Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP# walkmib 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.59.1.3.1.4
    hpSwitchFlashImageVersion.1 = WC.16.10.0016
    hpSwitchFlashImageVersion.1 = WC.16.10.0016
    hpSwitchFlashImageVersion.2 = WC.16.02.0025
    hpSwitchFlashImageVersion.2 = WC.16.02.0025
    hpSwitchFlashImageBuildNumber.1 = 932
    Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP#

    This OID is not showing you which is currently the default image, that means which image was booted.
    For this information you can use hpSwitchOsVersion 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.1.3

    Aruba-2930F-8G-PoEP-2SFPP# walkmib 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.1.3
    hpSwitchOsVersion.0 = WC.16.10.0016
    hpSwitchOsVersion.0 = WC.16.10.0016
    hpSwitchRomVersion.0 = WC.16.01.0009

    Thanks Emil,  hpSwitchFlashImageVersion gives me what I wanted [on a 2920]. I tried hpSwitchOsVersion, but it gives me:
    SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.11.2.14.11.5.1.1.3.0 = STRING: "WB.16.10.0019"

    Also tried on a 2930M, same result; hpSwitchFlashImageVersion lists both, hpSwitchOsVersion only gives primary.

    I could have saved a load of time, if I just asked here, instead of trying to find the answer myself!

    Many thanks
    David

    You can also check 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.59.1.4.1.7.1 hpSwitchMgmtModuleBootImage for which version is booted.

    1 = unknown
    2 = primary
    3 = secondary
