    Posted Jul 15, 2021 04:17 PM
    I recently purchased a 6200F to learn and lab on, and I am attempting to convert an interface (1/1/1) to a Layer-3 routed interface.  I was able to easily do this (switch to either a L2 port or a routed port) in the Aruba ArubaOS-CX simulator in EVE-NG, but am having difficulty doing this on the 6200F.

    Everything on the 6200F is currently defaulted.  I am running ML.10.07.0010.
    I presently do not see an easy way to convert 1/1/1 to a L3 interface.  See below for console output.  Please help & thank you.

    The 6200F have no option to change a physical interface directly from l2 to a l3 (routed) interface.

    The 6200F is a L3 dynamic switch
    The 8325 is a L3 advanced switch (like the EVC simulator)

    For a 6200F switch you can:

    • Then create a vlan xx
    • Then create a vlan xx interfaces
    • Put an IP on the vlan xx interface
    • create a access port with vlan xx

    switch# config
    switch(config)#
    vlan 10
    switch(config-vlan-10)#
    exit
    switch(config)#
    interface vlan 10
    switch(config-if-vlan)#

    or, in other terms, ArubaOS-CX on Aruba 6200 Switch Series doesn't support routed interfaces.

    Thank you.  I ended up doing exactly this and it worked out fine.
    I appreciate the detailed response.
