    AOS-CX Spanning-Tree Loop guard

    Is there any (reasonable) equivalent to Cisco's "spanning-tree loopguard default" on CX?

    Reading the documentation it seems to be an alternative to detect unidrectional loops, an alternative to UDLD.

    So I am wondering why I would need that.

    Response;

    loopguard works on the spanning-tree level.. when a port that was root/alternative goes into designated (meaning a downstream switch)..

    Generally uni-directional technologies like UDLD can suffice here.. But for fiber ports, as long as auto-negotiation is used you don't even need UDLD anymore. it's built into the ethernet standards now... GigE it was option, but most did it.. But all other higher speeds its native.

    Thank you Chris and Oliver!

    Good day!
