    Hi there

I have a port on HP aruba 2530 series which continuously flaps when pc connected. I troubleshooted the cable and it was fine, also checked vlan dhcp server and it worked fine but the user got 169.254.x.x ip when connected on this port.
    I 11/21/21 04:00:38 00077 ports: port 17 is now off-line

Is that for all devices connected to the switch? Or a specific.
Does the same happen on all the ports of the switch?

The logs suggest that the client drops the connection. Support may have commands to check deeper.

Hi! It looks like something is going on at device's NIC level (Are Firmware/OS NIC drivers fully updated? is the NIC configured at OS level to disable the port to save energy - AKA sleep mode - when no traffic is flowing through?), the fact the port is flapping without any Spanning Tree reference logged (with the typical blocking->forwarding learning cycle) maybe is due exactly to NIC port on the connected edge device (PC). If I were you I will triple check all on that side (from physical cabling up to NIC's configuration not excluding a check about NIC driver and firmware versions).
