I'm looking for a recommendation on the best practice to upgrade Airwave from 8.2.8.1 running CentOS 6.9 to 8.2.12.0. Is it worth trying to upgrade my current Airwave to CentOS 7 then to 8.2.12.0 or starting with a fresh install and restoring?

We upgraded from 8.2.9.1 to 8.2.11.2 last year. It requires a complete reinstall from scratch of the OS and Airwave. Here is how we had to do it.
    1. Upgrade Airwave to 8.2.10.1 and take a backup of the system.
    2. Perform a complete reinstall of the OS and Airwwave 10.1. Restore the backup.
    3. Upgrade Airwave to the current version. Oh and BTW the CLI upgrade menu in 10.1 is broken and it won't connect to Aruba to get the new upgrade package. yOu have to get TAC to either help you copy the file from a local source or give you the awsupport creds so you can do it.

    Epic pain...
