Hi all,

Just thought this would be useful especially for those who utilise Slack as their chatting platform.

 

On the UXI Dashboard: 
-Under Settings -> Alerts -> Add Webhooks.

At the moment UXI only supports Slack, ServiceNow and Iris Networks as webhooks. 

 

Adding Slack webhook, you'll need to create a slack application. 

1. You'll be required to build a basic API on Slack.
2. Log into https://api.slack.com/
3. Pick a name, choose the workspace you want to install the application (remember that this channel will receive various test messages/notification alerts) 

4. Once created. Under Basic Information, proceed onwards to Add 'Features and Functionalities'. Where you'll continue onwards 'Incoming Webhooks'. Once you visit the next page. Activate your webhook. It should look like this. 

5. Once you've enabled your webhook. You should have the option to 'Add new webhook to workspace', once done workspace will generate your curl request. Which is a webhook that allows you to dispatch messages to the workspace you've created. 

6. With the copied webhook url, paste it into your UXI dashboard alerts under webhook url. It'll look like this. 

 

7. Now instead of receiving alerts to your emails, it will be sent to Slack instead. -Under the workspace, you've designated.

I have attached the UXI icon I created to replace the standard slack custom app icon.

I find it easiest to start here https://api.slack.com/apps



Click on the UXI app

Scroll to the bottom, and choose add icon (or replace in this case)


Browse to the UXI icon.png file, and add that.

Now your customised UXI icon will be display each time an alert comes through!
