mrtwentytwo Thank you for your reply. We are looking at this from a different lens. I understand your approach and you are correct. My approach is to always educate customer on how to better utilize their resources. Don't just disable the 2.4ghz, put it to better use if they have the license. Technically, 2.4ghz spectrum is no longer service clients when you put the 2.4ghz to AM or SM node. Respectfully, it's not disabled but it's also not braodcasting 2.4ghz channels.
If you start using AM functions on 2.4GHz, the AM will use 2.4 GHz channels!
Also,
Instead of enabling advance tab via user account. You can access it via:
Configuration > System > Profiles > RF Management > 2.4 GHz radio > Select the AP radio profile> Uncheck Radio enable
If you go through the profiles tab on the AP group, you are 100% sure on the right radio profile!. If you use your approach you must be sure that you select the right radio profile.
In the end both ways work, but your approach might cause someone to change the wrong radio profile.
Why is the customer not using 2.4GHz? If they don't use it, what is the point of setting an AP to AM on 2.4GHz?
