    Hi.

We are going from an instant deployment to a aruba controller solution with dynamic segmentation on both wireless and switch.

We have about 2000 access points and 1000 aruba switches.

So what to buy? either we go for the app controller with 3 x 7240XM/7280 or controller vm, we need ha so 1 can go down and the rest can take over with all the devices thats why we need 3 x app, but if the vm can take more thats better.

what are the sizing for the vm, how many devices (AP/SW) can a vm have cause on the website it say 1000 and in the sizing guide it say 1 vm can take 4000 with the right license of course.

Pros/cons on the vm and the app?

Sizing for the VMs is in the online-documentation (check Table 3). Pro for physical appliances is the predictable performance and hardware acceleration. With VMs you need to make sure not to oversubscribe your hypervisor.

Best is to work with your Aruba partner to the optimal solution for your situation. For this size of a project, I would benefit from the knowledge of your partner.

    Hi Herman.

Will do, we got a meeting in about 14 days with Aruba denmark, just wanted to make sure the vm could take more than 1000 device, cause the good thing with vm is you can add more when needed, yeah i saw the no oversubs on the hardware on the vm.
    Thx
