We are on the verge of transferring from a 6.5 master-local controller setup to an 8.7 Mobility Master setup and had a question about AP groups. On 6.x, We needed to have separate AP groups for 303H and 315 because of the wired ports on the 303Hs. On 8.x, I tried placing these 2 APs in the same AP group with the wired ports enabled and configured. Both APs worked properly without any visible issue, but I wanted to verify that this won't cause an issue.

You will be fine.  If an AP does not have a second ethernet interface, the configuration will be ignored.
