    Hello ,

I am new here and new to the world of Aruba regarding the Access points .
I just received an AP-515 which i had to configure.

I created a new WLAN and the SSID is broadcasted as expected and i joined the WLAN just fine.

the problem is when i get about 5 meters away from the AP the signal strength drops to -70dbm.

The RF configurations are the default configurations. I didn`t adjust them.

Did anyone encounter this while installing the AP?

Note: I didn`t place the AP i just connected it to my home router and then left it without mounting on the wall.

The wall in my home is concrete also.

If it is sitting right next to another wireless router/ap, shut the other on off or move one AP at least 10 ft away.  See if that makes a difference.

What's the configured and reported power level, and what's the channel? Line-of-sight, or any obstacles between AP and client?
At 5m, a 5.5GHz signal will attenuate around 60dB, so -70dBm is definitely much lower than expected if LOS.
