    Hello.
Were about to change to the new model 505 and 515 AP from previously using 303 and 315 models.
I'm wondering if there are any reason we shouldn't mix the different models in AP groups and locations?

You can have them in the same groups and same locations. You just have to take a look at your capacity requirements, and the capabilities of the APs. I wouldn't place them in the same room, but you could have them in the same building.

    Hi Dustin.
Having them in same builing is sufficient enought for me to start with.

    Thank you for fast reply!

I can't think of a reason... group them together!

Why you wouldn't deploy them together:  You could introduce roaming issues between access points that have different capabilities.  It is best to deploy APs with the same capabilities uniformly to avoid that.

Like was said before: try to avoid using different access point models in the same room.

I agree with not mixing them.  I tell my sites you can have one model per floor.   This is based on my experience with my lab on the floor where I am having always the latest model and with older models on the floor but even though the lab is walled off and 50 feet from the users in my area,  half of the floor gets redirected to my newer AP in the lab.  Even if they are directly sitting under one of the older model APs.
