submitted RMA for a 315 that failed and because of the shortage of 315s they provided a 325 as the replacement.

The 325 is running 6.4.4.4-4.2.3.0 our MM and MC are at 8.5.0.11. this is the 1st 325 we use in our environment.

Connected the 325 to our wireless management network and tried to convert the AP to campus AP and failed. This is what I see when I type show log upgrade.

Check that you use MC ip address in convert command and not MM. MM has no images for APs.

Do you have CPSEC enabled in your environment? If so do you need to accept the new AP, or do you have auto-cert provisioning turned on.

If yes to both, have you tried putting your AP on the same VLAN/Subnet as one of the MCs, and convert it there? Maybe something is being blocked between AP and MC? If you factory reset the AP on a VLAN/Subnet that allows for automatic controller discovery (DNS, DHCP Option, ADP) it should get there.

    The culprint is version 6.4.x.x

First upgrade to at least latest 6.5 or even better to 8.5 and then you will be able to convert.

You can also manually upgrade from the boot prompt to version on the controller with following procedure:

    boot> setenv serverip <ip address of MC>
    boot> upgrade os 0 ipq806x.ari
    boot> boot

Be sure to check the boot partition. It need to be 0 if you upgrade partition 0 to new version.
