Hello everyone,
I am trying with little sucess to get my IAP 205 to work with a WIFI uplink to and Apple iPhone. What are the steps for this.
I only have 1 IAP and I converted this to standalone mode, I turned off extend SSID etc, checked the keys between the IAP and the iPhone host but still nothing.
Yes I have done all that. On Instant it says Uplink Type: WIFI-STA Uplink status: Probe
It does not connect it just falls back to Ethernet
Type State Priority In Use
---- ----- -------- ------
eth0 UP 2 Yes
Wifi-sta DOWN 1 No
3G/4G INIT 3 No
I have just tired this on an IAP-105 and it works fine. Using and IAP-225 with the latest firmware it won't connect. I have double checked the WPA key and it is correct.
WiFi Uplink is not supported on 802.11 AC access points.
Thanks for the reply. That would explain why it works on a 105 not a 205.
Where is it documented that it does not work on ac access points.
I have attached a snippet from User Guide in my previous response.
It is documented in the UG
Is it possible to have an IAP-105 as the VC in a cluster with IAP-205 / IAP-225's and use the IAP-105 to do the WIFI uplink? Obviously all on the same version of firmware.
that seems to suggest that should be possible, the remark on only the master uses the wifi uplink.
another question would be, is this a permanent situation of will wifi uplink work on ac APs eventually?
Making the IAP-105 the VC master then using this as the WIFI uplink does not work. I had to make the IAP-105 standalone AP then have 2 virtual controllers.
