Home Use?

Deployed Aruba at the new HQ and bought 2 APs () for use at home. Setup was easy at home, but two issues with IoT devices and one with connectivity:

    - the iHome iSP6X, refuse to register under iOS despite creating a secondary SSID broadcasting at 2.4 only. According to the manufacturer, their devices “may experience problems with enterprise wireless systems such as campus or corporate networks”

    - Philips HUE devices are hit-or-miss.

    - AirPrint does not work.

I compare this to a crappy Netgear access point where everything works flawlessly...signal strength was the issue with that vendor.

Running 6.5.4.8. Separate 2.4ghz SSID. AP is passing through DHCP requests back to the DHCP server (not using the built in one). I don’t know the Aruba model offhand, though.

Wonderinf if anyone else has bumped into this issue and, if so, what was done to resolve it?

Typically means the IoT device does not support enterprise encryption, aka 802.1X. If your SSID is running WPA2-PSK (or Personal), then it shouldn't be a problem.

For the other issues, it sounds broadcast filtering is enabled and AirGroup is not enabled. You can disable broadcast filtering to see if that results in AirPrint and the HUE devices to function properly.
